With a new beginning following devastating loss, I learned an important lesson as my family and I continued moving forward. I learned firsthand the importance of having a strong network and community, so I’m grateful to have a career that allows me to serve and support others.
As my wife and I introduced our children to their new sister, it felt like the missing piece of a puzzle I did not know I needed. She was born on July 3, and not only did she change our lives, but she also changed the meaning of what that day held for all of us.
Several years earlier, I lost both my biological father and stepfather within one month – one of whom passed on July 4. Both had been facing health struggles, but it all happened so fast that my family and I were left to figure out what to do without them long before we expected. They were both sensational men and hugely impacted my life and the man I have become.
My stepfather and mother owned their own engineering company for as long as I can remember. As a young child, I recall many weekends with all eight of us kids helping them paint or make binders. Their passion for what they did spilled over into me, inspiring my love of work and sparking my passion.
I went on to have a successful career and even built my own company in sports event marketing. When I became a single father, I started a brand-new career in real estate. I was fortunate to have a mentor early on who took me under his wing. Over the next 10+ years, I built and grew a mortgage bank, architectural firm, construction company, property management company, and real estate business. I had many opportunities over those years, but my number one priority was always my son.
There were days when I had meetings out of state that I had to attend, but rather than missing out on time with my son, I would drop him off at school, fly to the meetings, and be back to pick him up by the end of the school day. I loved what I did at work and had a passion for real estate, but family has always been everything to me.
I built a very successful career in real estate across the country and even survived when the company I worked for nearly went under. Even during those two difficult years when I literally did not have enough money to put food on the table, I stayed positive. Fortunately, I have truly sensational friends that supported me during that time, dropping by with food and words of encouragement. Truly, I would not be where I am today without the people in my life. I’m grateful to get to be that support person for others in my community now.
Not long after I met my wife, Lisa, I refocused my career to stay closer to home. No more out-of-state traveling during the school day! I have enjoyed being able to come home and have dinner with my family each night. When my youngest daughter was born, she tied right into it all. I consider myself conservatively optimistic because anything could change at any moment. At the same time, there are so many things I have to be thankful for, I cannot help feeling grateful every day.
I realized no matter what happens, there are always opportunities for new, brighter beginnings. Life always finds a way. Whenever I am not working, I enjoy skiing, mountain biking, and spending time with my family. What I love most about being a REALTOR® is the people I get to meet as we work together to achieve their real estate dreams.
I listen to my clients because the most important thing is understanding how you live. Real estate is far more than a property – it is a tool to create your ideal lifestyle. I will hold myself 110% accountable to you throughout the transaction and do things differently than most agents. Walking through every property and laser measuring, incorporating all the technology I can to streamline the process, and using cutting-edge marketing techniques, I help my clients get results. I always start with the logistics of what you want, then we will create a chart together to navigate properties and decide which one best matches your criteria. My diverse background in real estate helps me walk my clients through the process from start to finish and beyond. Whatever type of transaction you are working with, I am confident I can help you get where you want to be. Once the sale is over, I will continue to support your success as your lifelong REALTOR®.
Respectfully,
